When celebrating openings or office moves, money is one of the most sought-after houseplant gifts.
The gold tree is characterized by its glossy dark green leaves and neat shape, and because its name symbolizes wealth and prosperity, it is also popular as a grand opening celebration pot.
While it can be gifted in various spaces such as cafes, restaurants, offices, hospitals, and academies, it is important to choose the size and layout that match the placement and environment where the plant will be cared for.**
We will guide you through the features of the ZZ plant opening flowerpot, size selection, care methods, congratulatory ribbon phrases, and checkpoints before nationwide shipping.
What Is a ZZ Plant?
The ZZ plant is a foliage plant with thick, glossy leaves that grow along the stem.
Its scientific name is *Zamioculcas zamiifolia*, and it has the characteristic of storing moisture in underground rhizomes, so frequent watering is not necessary.
Because of its leaf shape and neat shape, it is used for interior decoration and can be chosen as a celebratory gift for openings, promotions, office moves, housewarmings, and more.
Although it is known as a plant symbolizing wealth and good fortune because of its name, it does not have a scientific meaning of bringing wealth or business success.
It is best understood as a symbolic gift celebrating the opening and wishing for future prosperity.
Where to Place a ZZ Plant Gift
The ZZ plant can be placed in various indoor spaces depending on the size of the pot and the shape of the plant.
| Delivery Location | Considerations When Choosing |
|---|---|
| Cafes & Restaurants | Size that does not obstruct entrances and customer movement spaces |
| General Office | Shapes suitable for desks or common spaces |
| Hospitals & Academies | Reception Counters and Waiting Areas Layout Conditions |
| Company Executive Office | Neat Pot Design and Overall Balance |
| Small Stores | Size That Can Be Placed on Counters, Shelves, etc. |
| Wide lobby | Plant height and leaf spread width |
Even with the same amount of plant, the overall appearance can vary depending on the actual plant height, number of stems, leaf abundance, and pot design.
Rather than judging size based solely on product photos, it's better to check the actual product layout and the space to be placed together.
Choosing a Pot Size
When choosing a plant pot for your grand business, it's important to check the size that fits the actual installation site rather than just picking a large product.
Money to place in a small space
For places with limited space, such as counters, shelves, or private offices, relatively small flowerpots can be considered.
Money to place in stores and offices
If you plan to place it next to the entrance or in a common office space, it's best to choose a pot sized that matches the surrounding furniture.
Money to place in a spacious area
In lobbies or spacious office spaces, relatively tall and leafy ZZ plants can be considered.
However, large pots can be difficult to move and maintain, so you should also check if the recipient can handle them.
The size and product composition of the ZZ plant vary by product for sale, so please refer to the actual detailed information.
Comparing ZZ Plants with Other Foliage Plants
Opening gifts include not only ZZ plants but also various foliage plants such as nokbosu, rubber trees, and monstera.
The gold tree is characterized by glossy leaves and a neat shape, while other foliage plants differ in leaf size, plant shape, and growth characteristics.
If you want to emphasize broad leaves or plant shapes, you can consider other foliage plants, and if you prefer relatively neat leaves and shapes, the ZZ plant might be suitable.
Since lighting and watering conditions differ for each plant, you should also check the care environment.

How to Water a ZZ Plant
ZZ plant stores moisture in its rhizomes and other areas, so it is important to avoid leaving the soil constantly wet.
Watering too often can damage the roots or rhizomes, so it's best to check that the soil in the pot is sufficiently dry before watering.
Watering intervals vary depending on the season, pot size, indoor temperature, lighting, and ventilation.
Therefore, it is not recommended to apply the same watering standard to all money waters, such as once a week.
Things to Check When Managing Money Amounts
- Make sure the soil is dry enough.
- After watering, make sure the pot doesn't let water pool for too long.
- Make sure the pot drains well.
- In winter, be careful of low temperatures and excessive humidity.
- Adjust watering to match the actual plant and potting environment.
If you notice abnormalities such as yellowing leaves or soft stems, you should check both the moisture level and drainage environment.
Growing a ZZ Plant in an Office with Limited Light
The ZZ plant is a foliage plant that can tolerate relatively low light.
However, this does not mean they can grow healthily for a long time in an environment without any light.
If possible, it is best to place them indoors with bright indirect light.
Sudden exposure to strong direct sunlight can damage the leaves, so caution is needed.
If your office has no windows or receives little natural light, consider whether you can secure the light needed for growth, such as proper plant lighting.
Also, avoid areas where the air from the heating and cooling unit directly reaches and where sudden temperature changes occur.
